Who Is Everlong?

With a diverse background that includes qualifying as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte in 2007, founding and operating a wine importing business, and collaborating with small businesses in a progressive accountancy practice, I have twenty years(!) experience of working with businesses and their needs.

This spans owner-managed businesses in many sectors such as health, education, wellbeing, professional services and arts-based charities. I am also currently training as a counsellor to bring that sense of calm!

Through all of this, I have discovered three key passions: Numbers, Relationships, and Freedom.

  1. Understanding numbers is not just useful but powerful - Imagine that light-bulb moment when you actually understand your accounts and taxes!

  2. Engaging with friendly, reliable, and honest people is uplifting - Building genuine relationships fosters a supportive and inspiring environment.

  3. Freedom—of choice, knowledge, and time to work in our own way—is essential - When you have a clear understanding of your finances, you gain the freedom to focus on what truly matters.

For me, that is time back to spend with family, friends, and my labrador Ozzy.

I’d much rather be walking in the wilderness than in an office if I can - hence the pictures on this site! What could that mean to you?

What my clients say

Why choose Everlong Accounts as your Accountant for Small Businesses?

  • Understanding

One thing all my clients have in common - they weren’t getting what they needed from their accountant. Some clients have felt it is too hard to change, or have felt too embarrassed at the state their accounts are in. I understand this and the anxiety it can cause.

  • Full review, judgement free

I offer a full review of your current systems (if any!), support to implement time saving software, clear and regular information, a friendly approachable manner and never any judgement. There is no such thing as a silly question with me! Oh and there is always lots of coffee and chat.

  • Easy to get started

It is very easy to both start working with an accountant for the first time, or to change accountant if it is something you are thinking about. I can manage that whole process for you.

  • Working with businesses across the UK

I’m based in Cardiff and travel for face to face meetings, but I’ve also worked with clients for years remotely (even before Covid!), so can work with anyone across the UK.

A bit more detail about how I work

When you first contact me:

I’ll ask you some questions about where you and your business are, and arrange a call to chat through where we can help.

1

This is a chance to see if we sound like a good fit for each other (and relationships with your accountant are key - I won’t be offended if we aren’t right for each other!).

2

If we get along, we’ll talk pricing once we’ve determined what you need. It is hard to give a price up front until we’ve had this initial conversation as what you’ve always had in the past may not be what you actually need as a business owner.

For example, early in my own journey, I quoted a potential client for full limited company accounts and VAT return as they said that is what they needed. Actually they didn’t need or want to be VAT registered, and wanted to work as a sole trader with much less complex needs!
